For the fourth time under head coach Pete Carroll, the Seattle Seahawks will be taking on a Ben Roethlisberger-led Pittsburgh Steelers team, as they will clash in Week 6.

Almost every head coach in the NFL today has had unique takeaways from game planning against Roethlisberger over the years. Whether it is his poise when scrambling out of the pocket or ability to withstand hits on a drive-by-drive basis, opposing coaches sure have had plenty of frustrations when watching Roethlisberger lead the Steelers offense.

For Carroll, he has more so been left in awe of the way Roethlisberger continues to conduct play as quarterback of the Steelers.

In speaking during a press conference on Friday, Carroll touched on what he believes is the biggest challenge for opposing defenses when facing Roethlisberger.

“The big issue with playing Ben is his ability to create after the normal play, not in the classical move around scramble thing but in his subtle movements,” Carroll said. “His ability to kind of shed off the rush.

“He's got the throws and all of that, but it's his ability to make the second chance play come to life differently than Lamar Jackson does. It's a totally different type of potential to the play.”

It is well evident that Roethlisberger is on the backend of his career in the NFL. Nonetheless, Carroll notes that the two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback still can complete some of the more difficult throws to make in the league today.

“Ben still can drop the ball in a freaking dime, up the sidelines, down the middle,” Carroll said.

“He's hard to sack as well. He's hard to get down because he's so strong. He presents some different issues that are unique to him.”

The Sunday Night Football clash between the Seahawks and Steelers in Week 6 will not see a quarterback duel with Russell Wilson going up against Roethlisberger, as the former was recently placed on injured reserve due to his finger injury.

In the big picture, there is growing pressure on both teams to turn their campaigns around following sluggish starts to the season, and a win in this matchup for either side could do wonders for them at this point in the year.
