PORTLAND, Ore. —
A MAX Blue Line train derailed Saturday afternoon in Northeast Portland.

A TriMet spokesperson confirmed that no riders were on board when the train went off the tracks. It happened near the Hollywood/NE 42nd Avenue Transit Center. According to TriMet, that area is currently closed due to their construction project near the Lloyd Center.
While the train was not in service at the time, the incident still caused service delays for other lines.
Shuttles have been taking riders between NE 7th Avenue and NE 60th Avenue, around the track upgrades. TriMet is also now running shuttles between NE 7th Avenue and the Gateway Transit Center. MAX Blue and Green line trains are being affected by this.
We apologize to our riders for this and are working to clear the train from the tracks.
