Police search for Norwich bank robbery suspect

NORWICH – Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a Norwich bank on Friday night.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:30 p.m. to The People’s Bank, 42 Town St., inside the Stop & Shop supermarket, for a reported robbery. Police said a man entered the business and demanded cash from a teller. No weapon was used or implied, police said.

The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash in dark four-door sedan, police said.

The suspect is described by police as a Black male, roughly 6 feet, 2 inches tall, wearing a camouflage-patterned shirt, pants, mask and ball cap, along with light-colored sneakers.
