Real Madrid could be forced to turn to signing a right back next summer as Dani Carvajal’s fitness issues continue to trouble the Merengues every now and then.

While Alvaro Odriozola will return from loan at Fiorentina next summer, it is hard to imagine the Whites entrusting the Spanish international for a regular role. He has yet to prove his worth and has been a weak link for the team in the past for more than one reason.

On the other hand, Achraf Hakimi is now at Paris Saint-Germain whose owners and directors are notorious to say the least when dealing with sales of players they deem to be the future of the club. The way Leonardo and Nasser Al-Khelaifi have been dealing with the Kylian Mbappe case needs no introduction but it certainly speaks a lot about the club’s regard for transfer sales.

As a result, Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold is a player who can be a solid addition to the Real Madrid roster. The Englishman has become one of the world’s best full backs in recent years and as far as the Premier League is concerned, he may well be the very best.

Here are three reasons why he is a dream target for Los Blancos

HE HAS A WINNING TRACK RECORD AND EXPERIENCE

Trent Alexander-Arnold may only be 23 years of age, but he has a trophy cabinet which most footballers who have had careers of even two decades would anyway. The Liverpool superstar has already won a Champions League and Premier League, in addition to the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup- he also has runners-up finishes from the league and European Cup, both.

In the summer, he may have added a European Championship silver medal under his belt as well, but that was not to be the case as Gareth Southgate’s England side had to make do without the youngster as he sustained an injury which ruled him out for the duration of the tournament. Nevertheless, for a 23-year-old, he has won a tremendous amount of silverware, especially in the last two years.

What Alexander-Arnold has done is a prerequisite for a potential Real Madrid signing and he surely has what it takes to play for Real Madrid. A golden trophy cabinet means that his transfer fees would be in excess of 70 or 80 million euros in today’s inflated market but Los Merengues can definitely afford that much given how well they have handled their finances in recent months and are already welcoming fans back to stadiums in nearly full capacities.
