Man found dead on NYC fence near NYPD headquarters in Manhattan

A man in his 50s was found dead Saturday on a fence near police headquarters in Lower Manhattan, authorities said.

The unidentified man was discovered slumped on the fence in James Madison Plaza at 7:30 a.m., the NYPD said. The fence is located near the back entrance of NYPD headquarters, at 1 Police Plaza.

The man — dressed in a red and white shirt, black pants with a belt, black pants and shoes — had several small lacerations on his neck, cops said.

“There was no kind of struggle or trauma,” an NYPD spokesman said, adding the city medical examiner would determine the cause of death.
