A 22-year-old Pontiac man was shot outside Satch’s Place in Pontiac Thursday, Oct. 14, around 12:45 a.m.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting victim at McLaren Oakland Hospital.
The man told deputies he was attempting to break up a fight in the bar’s parking lot. He then said he heard a gunshot, and was struck in the leg.
Deputies report the man did not provide any suspect information, and was “not very forthcoming with information.”
A single shell casing was found in the bar’s parking lot, as well a a black jacket, a key on a lanyard, and a red hat. The black jacket was determined to belong to the victim.
Video from outside the bar shows a group of people fighting, including the victim. One of the men walked out of the parking lot, then returned with a handgun and fired a single shot at the victim.
The shooter can be seen wearing the red hat which was found at the scene.
