Hundreds of new Buckinghamshire coronavirus cases but no new deaths recorded

Aylesbury Vale and Milton Keynes saw sizeable increases in Covid cases

Hundreds of new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Buckinghamshire in the latest update from the Government.

There were no new coronavirus-related deaths in the area, according to the new official statistics on Saturday (October 16).

But there is evidence the virus continues to spread.

In Milton Keynes there were 154 new cases.

But the biggest uptick came in Aylesbury Vale, with 173 new cases detected.

Wycombe also saw more than 100 new cases, with 129 added to the town's figures.

Nationwide, the Government said a further 148 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 138,527.
