Chicago FOP prez posts YouTube video after judge says he couldn’t make any attacking mayor’s vax mandate

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A judge has ordered a temporary restraining order against the head of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police amid the union’s fight over Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

Hours after a Cook County judge told FOP Lodge 7 President John Catanzara he could not make any more YouTube videos or social media posts encouraging police officers to refuse to enter their vaccination status into the city portal, he posted another.

“Everybody has to do what’s in their hearts and minds, whatever that is. But I will just leave you with this: policy starts at the top in this city. And it is proven time and time again that the top of this city’s policy needs to change,” Catanzara said in his latest YouTube video.

At the end of the 50-second video, he raised a sign that said “John Catanzara for Mayor 2023.”  The temporary restraining order applies until Oct 25, when the city and union and return to court.
