Hoosiers starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. looks to be out for today’s matchup against Michigan State.

Penix Jr. was seen on the sidelines and not in pads as warmups started. Jack Tuttle was taking all the 1st-team reps from center Dylan Powell.

Even though the Hoosiers were off last Saturday, Penixx Jr. wasn’t able to recover in time for this matchup. He got injured against the Nittany Lions on Oct. 2 and never returned to the game. It’s being described as a shoulder injury.

It’s more tough luck for Penix Jr. as he’s battled injuries throughout his career. While the Hoosiers were on fire last season, he tore his ACL and had to miss the rest of the season.

It’s also been a struggle this season for him as he only has 939 yards passing with a 4 touchdown pass to 7 interception ratio.

Tuttle will try to lead the Hoosiers to a massive upset against the Spartans at Noon ET on FS1.
