The Chicago Blackhawks have their first back-to-back game of the season tonight. After playing in New Jersey yesterday, they had to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins tonight.

Still searching for the first win of the season, Chicago faces off against the Penguins at six central. The first two games haven’t been great but battling for a point was a good look from the team on Friday night.

Scoring the first goal is usually a given expectation heading into a game, but after falling behind early in both of the last two games, scoring the first goal tonight is a necessity. Playing from behind cannot become the norm.

The lineup changes are not known for tonight yet, except for the obvious that Marc-Andre Fleury will be playing after Lankinen played yesterday. Having Fleury play in Pittsburgh definitely will be a great storyline tonight. Hopefully, he can get the Hawks their first victory!

Observations:

The Penguins leader in Corsi Percentage through the first two games is Jake Guentzel who only played in the game against the Florida Panthers on Thursday. Guentzel had a Corsi percentage of 70.18 and had a goal and nine shots in the game. With Malkin and Crosby out of the lineup, guys like Guentzel are leading the charge.

On the Blackhawks side of things, Jonathan Toews is leading the charge in the Corsi department with a percentage of 67.31. The Blackhawks have been giving up a lot of chances in the slot through the first two games. The team needs to try and protect the front of the net and force opponents further to the outside for chances.

The Penguins are 1-0-1 through their first two games, with wins against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers, two really good teams. So Chicago is going to have to play a great game tonight to stand a chance.
