While the Wizards went 0-4 during the preseason, one bright spot for the team was new addition Aaron Holiday. The point guard was one of four Wizards on Friday night to attempt at least 10 shots, though he’s ready for whatever role the team needs of him come the regular season.

“I can play on the ball and off the ball, it just depends on what (coach Wes Unseld Jr.) wants me to do,” Holiday told FortyEightMinutes and other media following the team’s fourth preseason loss.

Holiday’s main competition for point guard minutes off the bench is Raul Neto, though the two may share the floor quite a bit.

“I think we both respect each other’s space,” Raul Neto said of Holiday. “He’s a smart player and he understands the game…We’re both going to try to do our best and if it’s together, great.”

As previously mentioned, Holiday may have a higher usage rate this season than most could have imagined. The former Pacer is likely to lead the second unit and offense shouldn’t be an issue for the 25-year-old regardless of who he shares the floor with.

Latest on Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal left the contest in New York with a knee contusion, though coach Wes Unseld doesn’t believe it’s going to be anything serious.

The Wizards open the season on Wednesday in Toronto.
