A comprehensively modified 1966 Ford Mustang was up for sale on eBay but any interested party would need almost half a million dollars to buy it.

This Mustang Convertible has been restored and modified from the ground up thanks to CMX Customs by Vinnie in South Carolina. It immediately catches the eye thanks to a House Of Kolor Shimrin Kandy Root Beer paint finish that provides the pony car with a unique sparkle under direct light. Complementing the custom paint are chrome-finished wheels.

Found beneath the striking bodywork is a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 from Ford Performance that pumps out 460 hp. This engine is coupled to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels, according to the listing.

Further mechanical modifications have been made. These include the fitment of adjustable QA-1 coilovers and Baer brakes with 11-inch drilled and slotted rotors at the front and 9-inch drilled and slotted rotors at the rear, while the wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero tires.

Like the exterior, the interior has been overhauled. It now includes custom brown leather across the seats, door panels, transmission tunnel, and center console, as well as a unique chrome and leather flat-bottomed steering wheel, a wooden dashboard, and a wooden gear shifter knob. A modern infotainment system has also been fitted, as has an ambient lighting system.

There’s no doubt that this 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible is unique. However, the auction ended and it seems that the car didn’t sell. Maybe that $419,900 asking price was too high after all…
