Reading Royals earn shutout win in preseason opener against Adirondack

Kenny Hausinger scores twice and Kirill Ustimenko makes 26 saves in the 4-0 victory

Reading began its brief preseason schedule with a strong showing.

The Royals shut out Adirondack 4-0 in Glens Falls, N.Y., on Friday. Reading will play its second and final exhibition game Saturday against the Thunder at 7 p.m. at Santander Arena.

Kenny Hausinger had a pair of goals in the second period, and Jackson Cressey and Jacob Pritchard each scored once for Reading.

The Royals generated 31 shots.

Goaltender Kirill Ustimenko was dominant in the net, saving all 26 shots. Ustimenko was loaned from Philadelphia to Reading on Wednesday.
