How will Everton line-up as David Moyes’ Hammers visit Goodison Park?

Another international break is over and the mighty Blues of Everton return to Goodison Park.

Unfortunately, though, Everton are still some way off full strength as a certain David Moyes brings his West Ham outfit to Goodison.

Who’s Out?

Despite the enforced break, both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin still aren’t ready to return to action, with the latter still several weeks away from returning. Not good news.

In slightly better news, Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman should be fit to play, although both are slight doubts, while Alex Iwobi is also expected to return.

Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph, remain out, meanwhile. And there might also be a question mark over Yerry Mina as he played for Colombia on Thursday night and faces a long trip back without training ahead of Sunday’s game.

Tactics and Formation

Everton will likely setup in a 4-2-3-1 against West Ham, with Salomon Rondon leading the line once again. Central midfield picks itself, while Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend will both start. Anthony Gordon impressed at Old Trafford and deserves another outing, although Alex Iwobi has been a popular choice for Benitez.

If Coleman and Digne are both fit, the only other question mark will be the central defensive pairing, with Mina facing a short rest before this game.

Starters (likelihood of starting rated out of 10)

Jordan Pickford – 9/10

Didn’t look like he was suffering any aftereffects from his previous injury while away with England.

Seamus Coleman – 8/10

Lucas Digne – 9/10

Ben Godfrey – 8/10

Was only at 70% fitness before the break after his bout of COVID, hopefully he’s closer to his usual self by now.

Michael Keane – 7/10

Allan – 10/10

Abdoulaye Doucoure – 10/10

The twin midfield dynamos will be the key to this game, both in keeping the Hammers quiet while kickstarting Everton’s attack as well.

Andros Townsend – 10/10

Demarai Gray – 10/10

Anthony Gordon – 7/10

Salomon Rondon – 9/10

The international break was a good opportunity for the striker to get back to full fitness and integrate himself better into the team.
