Willmar Cardinal game October 15, 2021

On a cool, crisp night at Hodapp Field in Willmar, the Willmar Cardinal football team extended their win streak to five games with a 41-6 victory over the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats.

Cardinal senior running back Michael Price and senior quarterback Alex Schramm ran wild over the Wildcat defense with Price rushing 21 times for 174 yards and Schramm with 14 carries for 123 yards and four touchdowns.  Sophomore Ramero Trevino added two carries for 82 yards and a touchdown as the Cardinal offense rumbled for a total of 385 yards on the ground to control the game from start to finish.  Schramm notched another score, finding junior receiver Sam Raitz on a six yard strike late in the fourth quarter.

On the other side of the ball, the Cardinal defense was in the bend but don't break mode, giving 293 total yards to the Wildcat offense but only six points on the scoreboard.

Willmar is now 6-1 on the season. Chisago Lakes Area is 2-5.  Next up for the Cardinals is Becker on Wednesday, October 20th at Hodapp Field in Willmar.  Join KWLM Sports Director Todd Bergeth and Coach Ken Heitzman for the Rambow pre-game show at 6:40 PM on Wednesday.
