Football: Shansey leads second half rally to push Burlington City past Florence

Ayden Shansey scored three third quarter touchdowns to lead Burlington City to a 20-7 road win over Florence, in Burlington.

The score was 7-0 in Florence’s favor at the half, but Shansey got Burlington City’s offense going by throwing a 23-yard touchdown to Aaron Young in the third quarter to give Burlington City (4-2) a 7-6 lead.

The sophomore quarterback followed that up with a 61-yard scoring strike to Jamal Morris, and then threw a 75-yard scoring pass to Morris later in the quarter.

Jaden Ricketts scored a rushing touchdown for Florence (1-3) in the second quarter.
