UC Davis to team with William Jessup to benefit California fire victims

DAVIS, Calif. - For the fifth time in the last six seasons, UC Davis will match up with nearby William Jessup University but this time the Aggies and Warriors will also benefit an important cause.

All of the proceeds from this season's Oct. 30 game will be donated to benefit victims of the Dixie Fire through the Red Cross.

A special exemption from the NCAA allowed the Aggies to start their season participating in a cause greater than basketball.

"The Dixie Fire put our community under duress, and the effects are long-term," UC Davis head coach Jim Les said. "This exhibition game at William Jessup allows us to raise money to help support the recovery as well as shed light on the resources still needed to help the re-build of our neighbors in the foothills."

Tip-off will be at 7:30 PDT in Rocklin. Tickets will cost $25 each and are available on a first come-first served basis via this link or by visiting the men's basketball schedule page. Fans are also encouraged to make a donation to the Red Cross benefiting Dixie Fire victims.

As part of the first ever visit by an NCAA Division I opponent to William Jessup, there will be a halftime ceremony honoring Placer Valley Firefighters as well as a "pass the boot" style collection around the arena to raise additional donations.
