A woman who broke the glass ceiling for women's rights in state politics was honored for her achievements this afternoon.
Although the Former State Representative Marion Munley died four decades ago, her legacy continues to live on.
Dozens of people gathered at the Lackawanna County Courthouse for an unveiling of Munley's monument.
She is now part of the Distinguished Citizens Memorial of Lackawanna County.
"She was focused on her family, she was focused on the great work that she did for decades and its truly an honor to be up here to be with the family with all of the friends and other elected officials our community partners that are working so hard to this day, to live up to legacies of people like Marion Munley," said Scranton City Mayor, Paige Cognetti.
The last person to be placed on the memorial will be Judge Michael Eagen of Scranton, a Justice on the State Supreme Court.
All monuments on courthouse square will be completed by the end of this year.
