Phone calls (annoying): Lander Road
A resident reported Oct. 15 that she had gotten off the phone with someone claiming to be her grandson, who needed her to wire him a lot of money because he was jailed -- probably in a foreign country, as the popular scam on seniors tends to play out.
But she was not having it, telling the caller that he was not her grandson, so he could go pound salt, as police put it. When the would-be scammer said something vulgar in reply, she told him he should be ashamed of himself, hanging up and calling police.
