Suspicion: Westdale Road
A woman reported at 10:23 p.m. Oct. 7 that a man had broken into her home and was shaving his beard in the bathroom. Responding officers found no entry had been made to the home and learned the woman, 73, had fallen before going to sleep.
Property damage: Argonne Road
A resident said a neighbor’s dog caused scratches and dents to his car when he quickly entered it to avoid the charging animal.
Theft: South Belvoir Boulevard
A resident reported Oct. 5 that his car keys and jewelry were missing from his home. He said he was in the process of moving and had wrapped the jewelry in a bandana and placed it into a box. He was unsure who may have stolen the items, which he valued at $5,325.
Harassment: Covington Road
A resident reported Oct. 7 that she was receiving unwanted phone calls from her stepson. She only wanted the incident regarding the 21-year-old Maple Heights man to be documented in case there were further issues.
Domestic violence: Salisbury Road
A man, 22, was arrested for domestic violence Oct. 7 after assaulting his brother and mother at their home.
Fraud: Newberry Road
A couple reported Oct. 9 two potential cases of identity fraud. The husband and wife were both notified that unemployment claims had been made in their names. The husband also received an email believed to be from Amazon, stating a package in his name had been delivered in New York.
Officers advised them to contact the Attorney General’s Office regarding the unemployment fraud and to disregard the notice from Amazon requesting a call back.
Impaired driving: Mayfield Road
Officers responded Oct. 9 to a report of a woman screaming inside a vehicle for unknown reasons. She was found to be the only occupant of the vehicle and sobriety tests concluded she was heavily intoxicated.
The 38-year-old resident of Glenside Road was subsequently charged with OVI.
