EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders saw heartbreaking scenes on Friday (October 15) when Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) discovered the truth that her former husband Vincent (Richard Blackwood), the father of her children, was dead. And he has been for a while.

Vincent hasn’t been seen on the Square since 2018, though she'd been holding out hope that he was still alive somewhere – potentially hiding from crime boss Aidan Maguire and shady policeman DCI Alsworth.

It wasn't revealed at the time if Vincent really lost his life after he was seen leaving Albert Square in a mysterious vehicle three years ago, though viewers learned earlier this week that he very much did meet his demise. Phil Mitchell, who was involved in Vincent's mysterious disappearance after some dodgy dealings, confirmed the news to his former flame, Kim's sister Denise Fox.

It was then Kim's turn to have the news confirmed on Friday after she did some sleuthing with Jack's help. The copper hid his identity for a sit down with the man claiming to be Vince to try and get some information. 'Vince' is the man who stole Vincent's wallet and his identity, booking a taxi in his name earlier this week, which sparked Kim's suspicions.

But 'Vince' then got suspicious when he spotted Kim (who he'd previously had an unsuccessful conversation with) creeping on him and Jack, before she begged him to tell her what he knew.

"My husband's been missing for more than three years," she said, admitting she'd "tried to move on" and forget about him but couldn't. "I'm begging you. Just tell me what you know."

The man then revealed his true identity, confirming his name was Howie, as he shared he found the wallet right after Vincent went missing and kept it after hearing some dodgy dealings while working at a scrap yard. He shared he was then told to "look the other way", admitting "three people would show up, and only two would leave".

"Is Vincent dead?" a heartbroken Kim asked, to which Howie confirmed he stole Vincent's identity after being pretty sure he was in fact no more.

"No! No!" Kim shouted, as a worried Denise listened in.

Kim begged for more details, but Howie claimed he couldn't say anything. "They will find me and kill me," Howie said after Jack encouraged him to go to the police, before Howie handed Kim Vincent's wallet and left as she broke down.

Though Jack wanted to start an investigation into what happened to Vincent, Denise urged him not to, sharing that she already knew he was dead and had struck a deal with Phil to keep them all safe.

"I just hope she never finds out what you've done," Jack told her.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
