There has been some progress made in the stalemate between the Philadelphia 76ers and NBA All-Star Ben Simmons. Simmons has begun the process of reporting to the team, which will bring one act of the saga to an end.

While it is a step in the right direction, there is still plenty more that needs to be figured out. Simmons was meeting with some 76ers officials, including Daryl Morey and Elton Brand, earlier this week to discuss what the next steps are.

At this point in time, no one knows if Simmons is reporting to play with the 76ers, or if this was to recoup some of the money that he had been missing.

The 76ers, who were within their right to do so, were withholding his first paycheck and fining him for the training camp and preseason games that he had missed.
