M Night Shyamalan has announced the title and release date for his upcoming new horror movie.

The Old direct took to Twitter on Thursday (October 14) to share an ominous video without any caption.

In the short clip, which you can check out above, you can hear three knocks on a wooden door before the date "2.3.23" appears on-screen, one number at a time and accompanied by a creepy knock.

Sharing the video on its official Twitter page, Universal confirmed that the movie's title will be Knock At The Cabin, which is scheduled to be released February 3, 2023 (because American dates).

Nothing else is known about this feature project at the moment, as plot details are being kept under wraps and there have not been any casting announcements.

The only thing we know, according to IMDb, is that Shyamalan is set to write, direct and produce the movie.

As for why they decided to announce the release date so soon, it's not clear. It's not uncommon for studios to start developing projects with set release dates in mind and block out certain strategic release times for their biggest films of the year.

But it's not as common for those dates to be announced publicly with so much confidence, so it could be that the numbers two and three will have some significance to the story, leading to the date.

After his latest horror thriller Old, Shyamalan started work on two other feature films.

Labour of Love saw him again in the triple writer/director/producer chair to tell the story of a widowed man who embarks on a cross-country trip on foot to prove his late wife.

Now, Shyamalan is also producing The Vanishing at Caddo Lake, by writer-director duo Logan George and Celine Held and starring Teen Wolf's Dylan O’Brien and Old's Eliza Scanlen.
