After a strange year, it was an even stranger New York Comic Con on Oct. 7-10.

Strange isn’t always a bad thing, though – I myself am strange and unusual. The Jacob K. Javits Center in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan wasn’t as crowded this time due to COVID-19 restrictions, so it was simultaneously weird and delightful not to get shoulder checked by 10 people dressed as Spider-Man every hour.

Still, there was about 150,000 in attendance that weekend, and the cosplayers did not hold back their creativity at all – if anything, they had an extra year to prepare. From rapping Shy Guys to the Batman Who Laughs to a beaten and bloodied Invincible to a David Bowie Stormtrooper to a gender-swapped Two-Face and It, they did not disappoint. If you need some new ideas for Halloween, here you go.
