Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes says if Mohamed Salah wants to be the best in the world, he needs to stay at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah's future is still uncertain at the moment. With Liverpool weighing up a new contract for him, links to clubs such as Real Madrid won't go away.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Scholes believes it would be better for Salah to stay in the Premier League if he wants to be the best player in the world.

Here's what he had to say:

“If he wants to be the best player on the planet, he has to stay at Liverpool. He has to stay in England."

"The best players are here, it’s the best league in the world now. It’s got the three best coaches in the world, with the best teams.”

"So if he wants to be the best player on the planet, he has to stay here and Liverpool have to pay him."

Author Verdict

He's not wrong. Phillipe Coutinho was told the same thing by Jurgen Klopp. He didn't listen and since then his career has gone nothing but downhill.

Mohamed Salah should take this advice. He is already on course to become a Liverpool legend. With the team and manager he has at Liverpool, he has more than enough potential to be the best in the world.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi coming towards the end of their careers. The title of best in the world could soon be up for grabs. Mohamed Salah... the choice is yours.
