The Flash spoilers follow.
The Flash is bringing back Rick Cosnett for another stint as Eddie Thawne in season eight.
Last spotted in the third season episode 'Into the Speed Force', Cosnett's imminent involvement was confirmed by the actor himself on Instagram this week.
According to TVLine, his character will resurface in a flashback episode airing after the five-headed 'Armageddon' event.

Just to recap: Cosnett portrayed CCPD Detective Thawne throughout the whole debut season, ultimately dying in the finale in order to prevent Eobard's existence.
Following on from that tearjerker, he reappeared in season two episode 'Flash Back' before the aforementioned season three instalment, which featured Thawne as an avatar for the Speed Force.
Cosnett's fanbase reacted to his return in the Instagram post's comments section. One wrote: "While I'm glad [you're] back after so long, I'm saddened that your return doesn't play a bigger role into the season..."
"SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU BACK ON THE FLASH!!!!!!" added another.

Meanwhile in the Arrowverse, The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace recently teased Tony Curran's take on villain Despero:
"I wanted to put a truly classic DC villain in this five-part event that I knew fans would get excited about. Also, and I can't say too much without revealing too much of the story, there's a certain element to the story itself that involves the powerset of Despero, [which] makes him the perfect fit for the story.
"I think the audience is going to flip out when they see how dynamic, exciting, and unpredictable Tony is in bringing this particular version of Despero to life."
The Flash airs on The CW in the US. Sky Showcase and NOW air the show in the UK.
