Elton John has returned to the top of the U.K. Singles Chart for the first time in 16 years, with his “Cold Heart” collab with Dua Lipa (remixed by Pnau) landing at No. 1 on Friday (Oct. 15).

“Cold Heart” takes the throne — which Ed Sheeran‘s “Shivers” had been occupying for the last four weeks (and Sheeran himself had been holding down for 11 more weeks prior with “Bad Habits”) — after spending three consecutive weeks at No. 2. One day prior, Sheeran had asked his fans to “go buy/stream/download” “Cold Heart” so that John could dethrone him and achieve the historical feat.

The song marks the Rocket Man’s eighth No. 1 U.K. single in his decades-spanning career, and it’s been 16 years since his last one after he was featured on 2pac‘s posthumous 2005 single “Ghetto Gospel.”

When “Cold Heart” first broke into the top 10 of the U.K. Singles Chart, John became the first artist in history to score a U.K. top 10 hit in six different decades. The song, which was originally released Aug. 13 via EMI and Mercury Records, arrived ahead of his forthcoming collaborative studio album, The Lockdown Sessions, set for release next Friday.
