Windows 11 Screenshots Show Android Apps Running

Windows 11 has been out for more than a week, and so far, people are liking it. However, one of the spotlight features, the ability to run Android apps, hasn’t been enabled just yet. Now, new leaked screenshots show us multiple Android instances running on Windows 11.

One of the more prominent announcements during the Windows 11 event was the addition of Android apps to the software. Microsoft partnered with Intel to help make this possible, using what the company calls “Intel Bridge technology.”

Though this sounds like a dream come true, there is one major caveat: the apps aren’t coming from the Google Play Store. Instead, they will be coming from the Amazon store. This is significant because you won’t have access to Google services like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and so on.

Right now, the Android apps are probably being tested by officials at Microsoft now before the release. Since the feature hasn’t been enabled, all we have to go on are leaks. These leaks come to us from Windows Latest, and they show Android apps actually running on the software.

The first screenshot shows us a popular Chinese social media app. The second screenshot is rather interesting because it shows the app WeChat but in two instances. Having the same app open twice on the same device isn’t something we can really see on smartphones or tablets.

Since the apps are running on a much more powerful operating system, this shouldn’t come as much of a shock. This is a really neat thing to see because there are mobile apps that we would love to have multiple instances of. Since this is all in testing, it’s tough to tell just how far we take this Intel Bridging technology.

The new Surface Pro X Is out, and it also runs Windows 11

Microsoft still has faith in its Surface Pro X line of computers, even though some of us don’t. The company recently unveiled the new Surface Pro X 2-in-1, and it looks like it was built from the ground up for Windows 11. It uses the ARM-based SQ1 and SQ2 processors, and it won’t have many differences from the past model.

Microsoft has faith in its ARM-based processors, and it’s looking to give it another shot. If you’re interested in picking up one of these computers, they start at $899. It’s available now, and since it was built for Windows 11, customers might be some of the first to try out Android apps on it.
