CLEVELAND, Ohio— Authorities arrested a man and woman in connection with the deadly attack on a disabled veteran at a convenience store in the city’s Glenville neighborhood.

Calvin Cole, 33, and Eva Robinson, 42, are both charged with murder in connection with the death of Kevin Smith. Prosecutors filed charges against the duo on Tuesday.

U.S. Marshals arrested Cole and Robinson early Friday in a parking lot on Brookpark Road in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood. Court hearings have not yet been scheduled.

Smith, 62, died 11 days after he was sucker-punched Aug. 22 at Lucky’s Quik stop on East 105th Street and Ostend Avenue, according to police.

Smith and two women, including Robinson, argued inside the store. One of the women threw bottles of liquid on him, police said. Court records say Robinson assaulted Smith and “incited violence” that led to his death.

Cole then walked into the store and “sucker-punched” Smith, according to police and court records. Cole, Robinson and the other woman then ran from the store. Cole and Robinson sped away in the same car, according to U.S. Marshals.

An ambulance took Smith to University Hospitals, where he remained until he died.
