The Philadelphia Eagles made waves when they traded tight end Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals on Friday. All offseason, rumors swirled that Ertz would be moved elsewhere, but it never came to fruition until the conclusion of his Week 6 contest with Philly.

Ertz seemed to know a move was imminent, as he said he sat at his locker and cried for 30 minutes after the Eagles played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday evening.

While Ertz is off to Arizona to join Kyler Murray and the super dangerous Cardinals offense, he will always consider Philadelphia home.

With the Cardinals, Ertz is joining a core that consists of Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, A.J. Green and Rondale Moore. It's a loaded offense in Arizona as they remain as the last unbeaten team in the NFL.

While the production for Ertz has dipped in the last couple of years with the Eagles, Philly's offense really hasn't done much as a whole. It's entirely possible that the change of scenery could be the boost he needs to reignite his career.

The loss to the Buccaneers dropped the Eagles to 2-4 on the season. Many are taking the Ertz trade as an indicator that the franchise is already starting to mail it in this year, but general manager Howie Roseman said on Friday that isn't the case.

A mainstay in Philly for so long, Ertz will be missed by Eagles fans as he makes his way to the desert.
