Minnesota Gophers Football vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers: Predictions

The offense better wake up.

Whither the offense? If the Gophers have decided to adjust and start mixing it up a little offensively, perhaps by trying short passes that function as runs, then it’s likely that the staff members who picked Minnesota will be happy. If Mike Sanford Jr. continues to bang his head against the wall of hand it off twice and throw deep, then I expect you’ll start to see the Block M showing up less and less in these posts.

Or Nebraska will simply poop themselves again like they did last year and it won’t matter because we’ll all be laughing.

The predictions

This week’s thoughts

Blake: See my opponent preview.

GoAUpher: I’m here for more Scott Frost Faces, brought to you by P.J. Fleck and the Gophers. This one isn’t about logic, or what team is playing better ball. It’s about Scott Frost having a sad and making up excuses for why he lost to a dude with slogans.

gopherguy05: I have no idea why I have faith in this happening, but it’s just a hunch.

GopherNation: *negativity not explained*

HipsterGopher: I absolutely do not think this is the likely score, but baby I’m typing it into existence. Finally revenge for 1983. NOTE: For the Huskers who read this are easily confused, Hipster’s bit is that he picks using scores from previous matchups between the teams.

mowe0018: With the Gophers coming off of a bye and the Cornhuskers coming off of a blood bath of a game against Michigan, I think Minnesota will just enough to sneak by. But it wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit to lose this game. Irving and Thomas need to be put in some open space and make some plays.

UStreet: In lieu of predicting scores, I’m offering the fan base a sure fire way to prove I have no idea what I’m talking about. We invested $100 in Goldy bucks and each week I’m betting $7.69 a week on a prediction. Comment whether you agree with or want to fade my bet and we will keep track of who is smarter: the commentariat or me. It’ll be you.

Bet the under. These teams aren’t scoring enough points.

White Speed Receiver: Happy Scott Frost Day!

wildcat00: CHAIR! CHAIR!! CHAAAAAAIR!

zipsofakron: The only thing I’m confident in on Saturdays is that I will consume a lot of beer and ultimately be disappointed by the outcome of the football game.

Purgatory is strange indeed.
