Tips, Discoveries John Walsh, Dog the Bounty Hunter Have Found in Brian Laundrie Search

Since Brian Laundrie disappeared over a month ago, Dog the Bounty Hunter and America's Most Wanted creator John Walsh, have discussed numerous tips they have received and offered different speculations on Brian's whereabouts.

Dog the Bounty Hunter, whose given name is Duane Chapman, first joined the search for Laundrie in late-September and shortly after he said that he had received hundreds of tips regarding Brian's possible location.

On September 29, Chapman said that he was searching an area near Florida's Fort De Soto Park after receiving a tip that Brian and his family went there camping before he went missing.

"We are out here at the island, this would be and could be a perfect spot for him to hide. Not too many people out here but there's a lot of environmental things that we're going to fight so here we go, the search now is really on, the search has just begun," Chapman said in a video on Twitter.

While searching the Fort De Soto Park, Chapman claimed that he found a campsite and a can of Monster energy drink. Chapman's team then confirmed that the evidence was turned over to the FBI for further testing.

"Dog has turned over evidence to the authorities including items found on one of the islands near Fort De Soto Park. It is his hope that DNA can be assessed to prove Laundrie's presence," his team said in a statement.

Additionally, Chapman claimed that he had received a tip that Laundrie's sister, Cassie, saw her brother while visiting Fort De Soto Park on September 6, which was later confirmed by the Laundrie family attorney, Steven Bertolino.

"Cassie saw her brother Brian on September 1 when he stopped by her home and again on September 6 at Fort De Soto Park," Bertolino said in a statement. "Law enforcement agencies are well aware of these dates."

Chapman also said that he was following leads near the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina after several hikers claimed they saw Laundrie in the area.

Earlier this week, Chapman continued to search for Laundrie and visited his sister's home and told reporters that he "absolutely," believes she has more information on her brother's whereabouts.

In addition to Chapman, Walsh, the host of In Pursuit With John Walsh, has also recently said that he has received numerous tips and offered his own beliefs on Brian's possible location.

On September 29, Walsh told Fox's The Story With Martha MacCallum that his hotline received "multiple tips" about Laundrie's location.

"Our hotline blew up because it's the people who will find this guy," Walsh said. "I tell people you can text me, you can call me. I don't trace, I don't tap the phones. I know people don't want to call the cops because they think they'll get dragged into it. I don't care if you're legal, illegal, where you are, just text me or call me. And that's how I've caught all these people because the public is my supporters."

Walsh also recently hosted a special, entitled "Gabby Petito: ID Special Report," on which he speculated that Brian's parents have been "helping him stay on the run."

"We've had over a thousand solid tips to the In Pursuit hotline. Most of them are about my theory of his father driving him to the Mexican border and letting him go through Mexico. It's a great time to be heading south, because [there are] thousands of refugees," Walsh said. "I think that's maybe where he's hiding—and somebody might be helping him."

Laundrie's parents told law enforcement that they last saw their son on September 13. They believed that he left to go on a hike in Florida's Carlton Reserve, which has remained the main area of interest for authorities' search.

Laundrie is the only person of interest in the disappearance and death of his fiancée, 22-year-old Gabby Petito.

Petito went missing while the two were on a road trip and her body was eventually found near Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park on September 19. The Teton County Coroner's office recently said that Petito's cause of death was manual strangulation.

Authorities have not accused Laundrie of murdering Petito but the U.S. District Court in Wyoming has issued a federal arrest warrant, accusing him of credit card fraud.

In response to the recent tips and speculations offered by Chapman and Walsh, the Laundrie family attorney criticized both, calling them "dusty relics."

"Dusty relics like that Dog and John Walsh need a tragic situation like this so they can clear the cobwebs off their names and give their publicity hungry egos some food," Bertolino said in a statement on Thursday.
