Browns RB Nick Chubb to miss Cardinals game due to calf injury

The 3-2 Cleveland Browns delivered good news ahead of Sunday's home game against the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals when they designated wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who went on injured reserve with a sprained MCL on Sept. 21, to return to team activities.

It appears, however, Cleveland's most dynamic offensive weapon will be a spectator this weekend.

Per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Cleveland star running back Nick Chubb has been ruled out.

Chubb did not practice Friday because of the calf issue auguring the decision to sit him this week. According to ESPN stats, Chubb enters Week 6 second in the NFL with 523 rushing yards, and he's also contributed four rushing touchdowns.

Fortunately for the Browns, they have Kareem Hunt ready to serve as RB1 against the 5-0 Cardinals.

The stud back-up is tied for second in the league with five rushing touchdowns and also has 295 yards on 55 carries. He leads the Browns with 17 catches for an additional 149 yards.

Hunt had been nursing wrist and knee issues but seems on track to be good to go for Sunday at a time when the Browns reportedly could be considering sending wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a different organization ahead of the Nov. 2 trade deadline. With Chubb out, maybe Week 6 could be Beckham's time to produce his breakout performance of the season.
