Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has shared a big hair transformation on her social media.

The actress, who is best known for playing Leah Patterson on the Australian soap, usually wears a longer hairstyle.

Taking to her Instagram page today (October 15), Ada shared a shorter, wavier look for her hair as she beamed in a pair of selfies.

"It's about time I had a change, new hair and I love it! Thanks @rosesaffioti," she captioned the post.

Ada has appeared on Home and Away as Leah for over two decades now, becoming one of the longest-serving cast members on the show.

However, the actress recently revealed that she would probably pack in her acting career if the soap were to end tomorrow.

Speaking on Mamamia's No Filter podcast in June, Ada admitted she prefers to say she is "acting at the moment" over describing herself as an actor.

"I don't know whether it's something I'll continue to do," she said. "Maybe that's because I like something stable. Or [because] I never feel like I'm that good at it.

"I just feel like it's something that I've done naturally, but I haven't trained for it, and someone's going to realise that I'm not that great. I only just got renewed [for Home and Away] last year. And I was like, 'Oh, okay, they still want me.'"

Ada also expressed gratitude for appearing on Home and Away, adding: "I love television, I love stability and it's afforded me a great life. It's meant that I have been here, in this country, and at home as much as I can with [son] Johnas.

"I just think, for me, it'd be too hard hustling all the time for different roles and being out of work. And I don't love acting that much; I love working. So it was a real conscious choice for me."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
