A Modified Raspberry Pi 4 Lets You Control a Flamethrower. With Your Mind?

Imagine the possibilities. Or maybe don’t!

The ingenious inventors of the internet never fail to amaze us: Nathaniel Felleke has built a flamethrower that makes use of a brain-computer interface and machine learning. The best part? He can control the gadget with his mind.

“A mind-controlled flamethrower that works off of thoughts of fire: no need to try to control your meditation or concentration values,” that’s how Nathaniel describes his invention at hackster.io, where he also walks through the process of building it.

The flamethrower is powered by a Raspberry Pi 4, which transmits commands to an Arduino microprocessor. This is how he is able to fire the flamethrower, which is also custom-built using an arc lighter, with his mind. The system is activated when it detects the proper thought patterns. The whole build took hours of collecting data and building the proper networks, and in the end, it was successful. Moreover, thanks to the magic of editing, you can see the whole thing in just a few minutes. If you’re curious to know more, make sure you watch the video above, and as always, enjoy.
