HOUSTON — The Red Sox announced their 26-man roster for the ALCS, and made two changes from the team that beat the Rays in four games in the ALDS.

Relief pitchers Darwinzon Hernandez, who has not pitched in a game since Oct. 1, and Hirokazu Sawamura, who hasn’t appeared since the regular season finale, were both added to the roster. But Matt Barnes, who was initially left off the ALDS roster, was again not included. Austin Davis, who pitched 1/3 of an inning against the Rays, also didn’t make the cut.

Garrett Richards, who suffered a left hamstring strain in Game 1 of the ALDS, was replaced by Barnes in that series, so he’s not eligible to play in the ALCS. But he could return if the Red Sox advance to the World Series.

Game 1 of the ALCS is Friday night in Houston, with Chris Sale facing Framber Valdez.

Here’s the Red Sox 26-man ALCS roster:

Pitchers (13): Ryan Brasier, Nathan Eovaldi, Darwinzon Hernandez, Tanner Houck, Adam Ottavino, Martín Pérez, Nick Pivetta, Hansel Robles, Eduardo Rodriguez, Chris Sale, Hirokazu Sawamura, Josh Taylor, Garrett Whitlock

Catchers (2): Kevin Plawecki, Christian Vázquez

Infielders (5): Christian Arroyo, Xander Bogaerts, Bobby Dalbec, Rafael Devers, Travis Shaw
