Cyclone football pushes past Galva

SCIOTA — Do not look now, but the Cyclones have fought their way back into postseason contention.

With the game bumped up a night, West Prairie/Southeastern did not mind, topping Galva in Sciota 55-24.

The win improves WP/SE to 3-5 this season.

The Cyclones had a quick start, jumping out to a 20-0 lead after a quarter.

West Prairie/Southeastern kept adding to the advantage, taking a 27-8 lead into half.

The Cyclones led 40-16 after three quarters.

CARTHAGE — The Cyclones fell in a tight contest on Wednesday, losing at Illini West.

The Chargers took the match in two close sets, winning 25-23, 25-23.

Josie Brown paced IW with eight kills.
