Watford v Liverpool Match Preview

Off the back of yet another international break, Liverpool resume their league campaign away at newly-promoted Watford on Saturday lunchtime.

Off the back of two league outings without a victory, the Reds will be desperate to get three points on the board in this one.

Following the Brazil international debacle, Jurgen Klopp will be without key men Alisson Becker and Fabinho for the trip to Vicarage Road, as well as Curtis Jones who picked up an injury on England Under-21 duty.

Thiago Alcantara also remains on the sidelines, leaving the visitors light in the engine-room.

The match will see new Hornets boss Claudio Ranieri begin his tenure at the Watford helm, which often adds that extra 10% into players eager to impress the new boss.

Liverpool will need to ensure they are on top of their game to emerge from this one victorious.

With just three days until a crucial Champions League tie away at Atletico Madrid, Klopp could eye up a couple of changes in the case of any tired legs.

The likes of Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas may be in the German's thoughts ahead of the trip down south.

The Reds will undoubtedly have an element of revenge on their minds following their last visit to Vicarage Road, in which the Hornets ended a remarkable 44-game unbeaten run.

Ismaila Sarr ran riot that day, in whom Liverpool have reportedly had on their radar ever since.

While many elements of this one point to a potential banana skin, if the Reds play to their maximum they should have more than enough to see this one through- and albeit temporarily return to the summit of the Premier League standings.
