Jonathan Goodwin suffered a major accident on set of AGT: Extreme yesterday. The longtime stunt man who caught fire live on America’s Got Talent last season was airlifted to the hospital after a stunt went wrong once again.

TMZ reported this morning that Jonathan was suspended by his feet 70 feet in the air in a straightjacket with two cars suspended on either side of him swinging back and forth. Goodwin was supposed to free himself from the restraints, falling on an air mattress, and avoiding being hit by the swinging cars.

Apparently, instead of missing the cars, Jonathan was crushed between them. The cars then exploded and caught on fire. Jonathan fell to the ground unconscious and onlookers reportedly thought he was dead.

Jonathan was apparently rushed into surgery. His condition is currently unclear and no one from AGT: Extreme has yet spoken on the incident.

“During a rehearsal last evening for America’s Got Talent: Extreme, an accident occurred in which escape artist Jonathan Goodwin was injured while performing his act,” a spokesperson for the show told TVLine. “He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital where he is continuing to receive medical care.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as we await further updates on his condition.”

Jonathan Goodwin Suffers Another On-Set Accident

Jonathan has been performing in daring acts since he was only seven years old. He appeared on America’s Got Talent last season with a daring stunt that left his audience terrified.

“What you’re about to see is probably the most dangerous and the scariest thing I have ever performed,” he told the judges at the time. “Anything dangerous and a little bit stupid, that’s got me written all over it.”

Jonathan has suffered several injuries during his acts including breaking his leg and other bones. He made it to the finals on Season 13 of Britain’s Got Talent where he first met Simon Cowell.

“We saw your video submission and you are actually crazy,” Cowell said. “I met Jonathan before on a previous show and this is the closest I’ve ever saw someone kill themselves on live TV.”

The two have reunited once again for the new show AGT: Extreme, which aims to give space to daring and dangerous acts, specifically.

The show has not yet released a statement on what went wrong during this accident. At this time, Jonathan’s condition is unclear.
