CLEVELAND — A 45-year-old man was killed in a shooting next to the West Side Market in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood early Friday morning, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.
Officers from the Cleveland Division of Police responded at approximately 3:15 a.m. to West 25th Street and Lorain Avenue.
The man was found at West 25th Street and Gehring Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Cleveland EMS responded and transported a 45-year-old man in critical condition to MetroHealth Medical Center.
A 37-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, was located on the bridge nearby and was taken into custody. A firearm was found on the man.

Preliminary information indicated the victim and the 37-year-old man got into an argument in front of the RTA station at Lorain and Gehring avenues.
The argument turned into a fight and eventually led to the 37-year-old man shooting the 45-year-old man, police said.
Westside Market business owners went to open their shops early in the morning when they saw the crime scene.
"I came and saw a bunch of shell casings and the police all over the area, they closed down the whole street," said Jason Scott, owner of Greg's produce.
Scott has owned a shop in the market for than 20 years. He like so many others are fed up with the crime. Exactly a month ago, there was another shooting in the same area that left one man dead and another injured. Scott told News 5 it never was like this, but now they want to see a stronger law enforcement presence.
"I think the Westside Market can hire more security for people to walk around in the secured area," said Scott.
But not everyone feels that way. Alex Boutros has had her shop for more than 10 years and thinks even with the shootings it's still a safe area.
"If it starts happening every month, every year, then now there's a problem, but we’ve got a good unit, because our police department's great so I’m not really that worried," said Boutros.
The homicide remains under investigation.
