Liverpool Star Mohamed Salah Would Be Pundit's 'First-Choice' Pick In Team Over Four World-Class Stars

Liverpool Star Mohamed Salah Would Be Pundit's 'First-Choice' Pick In Team Over Four World-Class Stars

Robbie Savage believes that in-form Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is the "best player in the world in terms of creativity, assist."

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been hailed as the “best player in the world right now” ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

That is according to Robbie Savage, who claimed Salah would be the “first choice” for his team ahead of Ronaldo, Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Salah has been in sensational goalscoring form for Liverpool this season, with the winger scoring nine times and registering three assists in nine appearances.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has called the 29-year-old Egypt captain the “best player in the Premier League right now.”

Salah was also recently named on France Football’s 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or alongside Mbappe, Neymar, Ronaldo and Messi.

The Liverpool winger, who was signed from Roma in a £34m deal in 2017, is out of contract in 2023 and has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Savage has insisted that Salah is the “best player in the world in terms of creativity [and] assist” and he would pick him over Messi, Mbappe, Neymar and Ronaldo.

He told William Hill: “Mo Salah is the best player in the world right now. Would I have him over, Messi and Ronaldo? Yes. Mbappe? Yes. Neymar? Yes.

“For me, right now, if you are picking the team in the forward area, Mo Salah would be the first choice.

“So I would say, right now, Mo Salah is the best player in the world in terms of creativity, assist.”

Salah faces stiff competition in challenging for the 2021 Ballon d'Or against the likes of Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Jorginho and Karim Benzema.

Brazil legend Rivaldo has been impressed with the Egypt international’s form and believes that he can still compete for the Ballon d'Or award.

“Liverpool’s Egyptian forward is producing a fantastic start of season with impressive stats and a sensational goal against Manchester City last weekend,” he told Betfair.

“He’s one of the best players in the world right now because his astonishing numbers in terms of goals and assists are obtained in the Premier League and Champions League, two of the most difficult competitions [on] the planet.

“When you are so good in demanding conditions then, of course, you are a top player who deserves to be among the contenders for the Ballon d’Or this season.”
