Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Sally Carman has thanked her co-star and fiancé Joe Duttine for supporting her through her Super Soap Week stunt.

Abi Franklin will be fighting for her life next week when her plan for revenge on Seb's killer, Corey Brent, lands them both tumbling into the sewers below Weatherfield due to the sinkhole.

Such a massive stunt must have been challenging to film, but Sally was able to count on Joe Duttine (aka Tim Metcalfe) to give her some TLC after each rough day on set.

"To be fair there was one night I came in, he's so good," she told Digital Spy and other media. "He always has tea prepared, and there was one night I was particularly freezing, I was like 'I'm so cold' and I got in and he laid out my pyjamas and my slippers and dressing gown and ran me a big hot bath and put salts in it and made me a cup of tea.

"Oh, that was so sweet! So yeah, he's brilliant, he's great."

These physically and emotionally demanding Super Soak Week episodes will cap off a year that Sally has described as her most challenging and fulfilling in Coronation Street.

"It's been an absolutely brilliant year overall," she said. "I had covid halfway through which was horrendous, I was really poorly, but what that did was it highlighted just how blessed I am to have my health and such a brilliant job and such brilliant friends and to work with such a fantastic company on the best show in the world.

"It's just brilliant and to do a storyline like this and get such good feedback and have the opportunity to have the scenes I've been able to do and have these brilliant words to say, I feel so lucky and I really don't take it for granted. It's fantastic and whatever happens going forward, I will always have this moment so yeah, I feel very very lucky indeed."

Sally also touched on the recent NTAs, where Coronation Street co-star Mollie Gallagher pipped her to win the Best Serial Performance Award.

"The thing is, Mol didn't think for one second that she was going to win it and I remember when were travelling down in a taxi, I went 'Mol, you could very easily win this' and she was like 'No, no way, I'm just really happy to be invited' and there was no fake modesty, she genuinely didn't have a clue," Sally recalled.

"So when she won, I looked at her and it took about two seconds and then she just realised and oh, I couldn't be anything other than delighted for her, she has worked so hard and she lives and breathes that character. She takes Nina home with her as well, whereas I don't, I mean I'm tired from working and I've got to learn my lines and stuff, but Abi ends when I've done my homework, but for Mol, she carries it on you know, she feels it.

"She earned that award absolutely fair and square so I'm nothing but delighted for her, she's gorgeous and she deserves it."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
