Galaxy Buds 2 Won't Connect? How to Fix the Problem

How Do I Fix My Galaxy Buds 2 Connection?

Try these fixes in order until your Galaxy Buds 2 connect to your Bluetooth-enabled device.

1. Check for interference. Wireless devices can interfere with and interrupt each other, including Wi-Fi routers, appliances, repeaters, and media systems. Move the device you want to connect to, such as your phone and the Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds, to another, more isolated location.
   

2. Turn Bluetooth off and on (restart). Bluetooth devices sometimes misbehave even if they were working previously or connected before. After turning off Bluetooth, wait at least a minute, and then turn it back on. Doing this resets the connection and may solve some more common issues.
   

3. Restart your device. Similar to how computers need to reboot occasionally to fix problems, your phone or tablet may also need to restart. It clears out the active memory and may solve some basic connection issues.
   

4. Re-pair your earbuds to your phone. To do this, you need to first unpair the Galaxy Buds 2 to delete the Bluetooth profile. Sometimes, repairing the earbuds' Bluetooth connection is the best option, and it can help establish a new, more reliable sync.
   

5. Try connecting the Galaxy Buds 2 to another device. If you can connect the earbuds to the second device without any problems, then most likely, it's an issue with your primary device that you were initially trying to connect. If the Galaxy Buds 2 still won't connect, you now know they're the problem.
   

6. Charge the Galaxy Buds 2. The battery level of the Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds may be too low to support a reliable connection. Ensure the charging contacts on the earbuds and in the wireless charging case are free of dust, debris, and hair. Always use a Samsung-approved charger or adapter. Let the earbuds, and case, charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to pair them.

7. Soft reset your Galaxy Buds 2. Start by placing the Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds inside the wireless charging case and closing the lid. Wait for 7 to 10 seconds until they power cycle. Reopen the lid, put the earbuds into pairing mode, or take them out of the case to connect them automatically with a device you already have paired.
   

   We recommend charging the wireless charging case and the Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds to at least 15% or more before restarting. If there’s a red light on the charging case, it needs to be charged.

8. Factory reset the Galaxy Buds 2. If you’ve tried all of the other methods and your Galaxy Buds 2 still won’t connect, you can do a factory reset, which reverts all software settings to their factory defaults. You’ll have to re-pair your earbuds with all of your devices.

   You must use the Galaxy Wearable app, which is not available on iOS. Currently, there is no way to factory reset the earbuds on an iPhone or iOS device—you’ll need access to an Android tablet or phone, preferably a Samsung model.

9. Get help from the Samsung Support Center. If you’ve tried all of the fixes listed above and nothing is helping, you’ll need to reach out to the experts. Search for your model number, and then you can message a representative via chat, call them, or request service online.
