Doctor Who bosses have revealed more key details about the upcoming 13th season, including the full roster of writers and directors.
Unlike previous series, the new six-episode instalment will tell one serialised story, Doctor Who: Flux, rather than a series of standalone episodes. Because of this format change, fewer guest writers have been invited this time around.
Chris Chibnall, a writer and showrunner for the series since its modern revival in 2005, will continue to lead the new season, having previously written under famed showrunners Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat.
While much of his career has been built on Doctor Who, he also created and wrote ITV mystery-drama Broadchurch and was the head writer for the first two series of Davies' Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood.

Chibnall has written every episode of the upcoming season, with the sole exception of the fourth episode, which he will co-write alongside Maxine Alderton, who previously wrote season 12's 'The Haunting of Villa Diodati'.
Chibnall told Doctor Who Magazine: "She's brilliant. We had some other really great writers scheduled, but a lot of our plans had to be altered.
"Partly because the new series is a serial, partly because there are less episodes and partly because of the turnaround."

Jamie Magnus Stone has been invited back to direct episodes one, two and four of the new series of Doctor Who. He previously directed the season 12 premiere, 'Spyfall: Part One', and two-part finale, 'Ascension of the Cybermen' and 'The Timeless Children'.
Chibnall called the director "great visually, great with action, great with humour and great with actors," adding: "Asking him back was a no brainer."
The remaining three episodes will have up-and-coming director Azhur Saleem at the helm, who previously led Anansi Boys, an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name for Amazon Prime Video.
Chibnall said they planned to have Saleem direct during season 12, but they "couldn't make it happen". Doctor Who composer Segun Akinola recommended Saleem, calling him "really talented".

Season 13 will be the last with Jodie Whittaker holding the keys to the TARDIS, starring alongside Mandip Gill and series newcomers John Bishop and Jacob Anderson.
Doctor Who: Flux (aka series 13) will premiere on October 31 on BBC One in the UK. In the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max.
