SPOILER makes surprise return in You season 3

As soon as You season 3 was released on the streamer on Oct. 15, fans of the psychological thriller stopped doing whatever they were doing and immediately began watching the latest season. It’s one of Netflix’s top television series, and each season gets better and better. In the latest season, we see a surprise return of a beloved character. Who is this mystery character?

Of course, in a thriller like You, there are many twists and turns that leave you with your jaw dropped. As much as Joe and Love want to lead normal lives in season 3, their darkest urges always seem to win, and they end up committing horrible deeds.

Many surprising things happened in the third season of this popular Netflix original, but it’s a particular character’s return that shook us all. After watching the third season in its entirety, this character’s surprise appearance still remains on everyone’s minds.

Does Forty return in You season 3?

YES! Forty appears in episode 6 of season 3. However, he doesn’t appear how we would have liked. If you recall, Forty was killed by a police officer in the season 2 finale. His death seemed pretty final, so we weren’t expecting to see him in season 3.

In season 3, his appearance was only for a scene, but it was expected. He has a scene with Love that we enjoyed watching because we believe that this is what Love needed to move on.

How does Forty return in You season 3?

In episode 6, Forty returns as Love’s hallucination. After getting wasted at Dottie’s vineyard launch, Love takes a bath and receives a text from Forty. Throughout the season, Love had been texting Forty’s number giving him updates on her life and releasing her frustrations, but he would never text back. (Remember, he’s dead.)

After receiving a second text from Forty while in the bathtub, Love chalks up her seeing things to her being drunk. Suddenly, she hears Forty laughing and turns around to see him in the bathtub with her.

They engaged in an emotional conversation that had us crying like babies. Forty’s return helped Love move on and also helped her realize that she needs to place her focus on her family. They talk throughout the night, and she falls asleep. When she wakes up, he’s gone, and she comes to terms with it and sets a new goal of protecting her family at all costs.

Forty’s return may have been short, but it was needed in Love’s case. And fans were just happy to see him again, even if it was for a short period of time.
