WBC Champ Tyson Fury Reacts To Deontay Wilder Finally Congratulating Him On His KO Win

WBC champ Tyson Fury has appeared to squash his fierce rivalry with Deontay Wilder once and for all after responding to the Bronze Bomber’s statement.

Fury dropped Wilder in the third round of their trilogy fight last Saturday, but the Gypsy King was knocked down twice by his opponent in the fourth.

The 33-year-old Brit, who was knocked down twice in the same round for the first time in his career, fought back and continued to pressure a visibly exhausted Wilder.

Fury sent Wilder crashing to the canvas for the second time in the 10th before he landed a brutal right in the 11th to KO his rival and retain the WBC title.

Speaking after their epic war in Las Vegas, the WBC kingpin claimed that Wilder didn’t want to show him “any sportsmanship or respect” when he approached him.

Wilder broke his silence on Thursday and took to social media to congratulate Fury on his victory at the T-Mobile Arena.

“Wow, what a hell of a night! I would like to first and foremost thank God for allowing me to give the world another part of me that's driven with passion and determination,” he wrote.

“I would be lying if I said that I wasn't disappointed in the outcome but after reflecting on my journey, I now see that what God wanted me to experience is far greater than what I expected to happen.

“Although, I wanted the win I enjoyed seeing the fans win even more. Hopefully, I proved that I am a true warrior and a true king in this sport.

“Hopefully, WE proved that no matter how hard you get hit with trials and tribulations you can always pick yourself up to live and fight again for what you believe in.

“Last but not least I would like to congratulate [Tyson Fury] for his victory and thank you for the great historical memories that will last forever.”

Fury took to Twitter and quote tweeted Wilder’s statement, adding a handshake emoji and a simple message to the former WBC champ and his own followers.

The Briton tweeted: “The greatest trilogy of all time.”

Fury, who has since returned to the UK, has only one fight remaining on his current contract with Top Rank and ESPN.

The Gypsy King is keen to unify the heavyweight division by setting up an undisputed showdown with unified champ Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk will first face Anthony Joshua in a rematch, while the WBC could enforce a mandatory challenger for Fury.
