"The Cape House," also known as "A Cape Cod Christmas," will have its world premiere in screenings at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 and 19 at The Strand Theatre, 58 High St., Clinton.

The film is written and directed by John Stimpson of Princeton, and produced by his film company, H9 Films, based at the Printers Building in Worcester.

"This adorable film starring Katie LeClerc was shot down in Falmouth and Woods Hole a year ago. It was a crazy time getting back to work during the pandemic, but we bubbled-up down on the Cape and made a gem of a movie," Stimpson said.

Stimpson has directed a number of films locally, including several with a Christmas theme that have been shown on outlets such as Lifetime.

"Christmas On Ice," which was shown on Lifetime last year, starred Abigail Klein and Ryan Cooper, and scenes were shot at the Worcester Common Oval, Worcester City Hall, Worcester Ice Center and Birch Tree Bread Company.

In "The Cape House," after a children’s author comes to the Cape to host one last Christmas dinner with her disagreeable siblings before they have to sell the family house, she reunites with her childhood sweetheart, a local artist, who helps her try to find a way to keep the house she loves so dearly.

The film will be released as "A Cape Cod Christmas" on AMC’s streamer AMC+, Stimpson said. Dates have not been announced. "I'm super proud of it," Stimpson said.

LeClerc is best known for "Switched at Birth," but she was also in Stimpson's film "Christmas a la Mode." Her co-star is Brent Bailey, best known for his role with Woody Harrelson in "LBJ."

Tickets to the premiere of "The Cape House" at The Strand Theatre are $6 at the door for both nights.
