Eat a Peach Burger

Macon Burger Week

The annual Macon Burger Week in Georgia celebrates America’s beefiest handheld in all its glory. For one week each year, restaurants around the area showcase creative takes on burgers, each vying to have the winning burger at the end of the week. The Eat a Peach Burger, from Ocmulgee Brewpub received the title of the best burger in previous years, thanks to its sweet-and-savory richness from the peach pico de gallo and fresh burst of basil aioli.

    Ingredients
    Burgers
  • 4 beef burger patties, cooked
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Peach Pico de Gallo
  • 2 cups peaches, diced
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup jalapenos, diced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • Basil Aioli
  • 1 tablespoon shredded basil
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Peach Pico de Gallo

  1. Toss diced peaches in sugar.
  2. Dice produce and mix with peach mixture.

Basil Aioli

  1.  Fold all ingredients together, and whisk well to combine. 

Assembly

  1. Place prepared patties onto open buns, and top with each with a slice of cheese and two strips of bacon.  
  2. Spoon 2 to 3 ounces of peach pico de gallo over each burger then top with aioli.
