Referees missed a blatant pass interference penalty during Thursday night football between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It is Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season, and it began on Thursday night, as the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As it is in nearly every game, the referees missed a blatant penalty.

During the game, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts targeted second-year wide receiver Jalen Reagor down field. However, Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean was on the wideout’s back and made contact with his arm before the football even reached them.

It sure looked like a pass interference penalty, but not to the on-field officials. Take a look for yourself and you be the judge.

Sure, it was bad that no penalty was called. But give Regor credit, he almost managed to secure the pass with Dean interfering with him.

The Eagles found themselves in a 28-7 hole after the Buccaneers reached the end zone on a 12-play drive to begin the second half. Yet, Philadelphia bounced back in the second half, as Hurts scored two rushing touchdowns to cut their deficit to 28-22 with a little under six minutes remaining in regulation.

Tampa Bay ran out the clock to secure their fifth victory of the season and clinching Philadelphia’s third loss of the year.
