Teen makes history and lives his dream performing at Metropolitan Opera House
A student at the Denzel Washington School for the Performing Arts is living out his dream of performing at the Metropolitan Opera House.
Judah Taylor, a high school junior,  landed a supporting role in the opera “Fire Shut Up In My Bones.”
The much-heralded production is based on a memoir by New York Times opinion columnist Charles Blow, with music composed by Terence Blanchard. It is the first opera presented by a black composer in the opera house's 138-year history.
Taylor says performing at the venue “feels like a dream come true.”
